Life here doesn’t stop when school ends.

At DS Residences, we believe the most important growth doesn’t always happen in a classroom. It happens on a night cycling route at 2am, at a charity bazaar that raises $20,000 for children with cancer, and around a dinner table where five nationalities are celebrating someone’s birthday. This is what growing up, together, looks like.

Give back | Go further | Grow together

Giving back — because it’s part of who we are.

Community service at DS Residences isn’t an annual campaign. It’s woven into the fabric of how we live — from visiting elderly residents at Chinese New Year, to washing cars for charity, to spending an afternoon doing horse therapy with those who need it most.

ELDERLY CARE · INTERGEN

Visits to Elderly Homes
During key festivities, DS residents visit homes for the elderly. Mooncakes and lanterns, mandarin oranges and red packets, food and games. Small gestures that mean a great deal to those who might otherwise celebrate the seasons alone.

THERAPEUTIC · INCLUSION

Horse Therapy
An experience that stays with you long after. Residents join horse therapy sessions alongside beneficiaries — slowing down, being present, and building empathy in one of the most unexpected ways imaginable.

COMMUNITY · FUNDRAISING

Charity Car Wash
Residents roll up their sleeves — literally. A simple idea with real impact: student energy, soap, and water, raising funds one car at a time for causes that matter to our community.

COMMUNITY · WELFARE

Food Distribution
Hands-on and grounding. DS residents join food distribution drives in the community — a reminder that care doesn’t stop at our front door, and that small acts of service add up to something meaningful.

Our 2026 anchor commitment

In 2026, childhood cancer became our anchor cause — expressed through two distinct commitments, with two organisations, for the same belief: that every child deserves a fighting chance.

“One of our own residents is a childhood cancer survivor. Their journey — and the recognition that not every child has the same access to support — is why we show up.”

SINGAPORE CANCER SOCIETY

Relay for Life 2026

Our fourth consecutive year at SCS’s Relay for Life — Singapore’s largest overnight cancer fundraising event. Approximately 20 DS runners and 20 event volunteers came together to walk, run, and stand in solidarity with cancer survivors and their families.

CHILDREN’S CANCER FOUNDATION

2026 Anchor Beneficiary

CCF supports children with cancer and their families across Singapore. As DS Residences’ anchor beneficiary for 2026, our partnership has included a charity bazaar and carnival that raised $20,000, and in April, a Hair for Hope satellite event that will be hosted by our community.

Going further — movement here is never something you do alone.

From Friday evening sports to overnight adventures across Singapore and beyond — staying active at DS Residences is never something you do alone. Movement here is a shared language, and every outing is a chance to know your community a little better.

Overnight Cycling

The city looks different at 2am. Pedalling through Singapore’s streets through the night, students and staff push past the point where comfort ends — and discover what they’re made of on the other side.

Overseas Camp

Beyond Singapore’s borders — our annual camping trip takes students out of the city and into the outdoors. No WiFi, no schedule, no comfort zone. Just open sky, a campfire, and the people you’ve come to call family.

“Some lessons only come from doing something hard, together.”

Most international students see Singapore through the same narrow lens — the MRT, the mall, the library. DS Residences takes a different view. Every month, we head out into the island’s trails, reserves, and coastlines — because knowing where you live is part of belonging there.

Grow together — academically, emotionally, and as a community.

Academic results matter. So does knowing how to manage your time, protect yourself online, communicate with confidence, and take care of your mental health. At DS Residences, growing up is something we take seriously — and something we do together.

Singapore has one of the most rigorous and nuanced education systems in the world. For international students and their families arriving for the first time, the questions are immediate and the stakes are high — which school, which curriculum, which pathway, and how to even get in. DS Residences was built to answer those questions.

Getting in — AEIS & S-AEIS
The MOE Admissions Exercise for International Students is the gateway to government schools. We help students prepare, apply, and understand what to expect.

Choosing the right curriculum
GCSE “A”-Levels, International Baccalaureate, or a private university preparatory programme — each lead somewhere different. We map out what each pathway entails.

Mid-year entry & school transfers
Joining a Singapore school mid-year or transferring between schools is possible — but the process is specific. We handle the complexity so families don’t have to.

Choosing the right school type
Government school, private school, or international school — each has different entry requirements, costs, and outcomes. We help families make informed choices, not guessed ones.

University admissions
From NUS, NTU, and SMU to JCU, SIM, and MDIS — we guide students through applications to both government and private universities in Singapore.

Ongoing academic check-ins
Once a student is settled, we stay close to their academic progress — catching challenges early and adjusting the plan when needed.

Run by DS staff and specialist external facilitators — covering the things schools don’t always teach, and that students need most when living independently for the first time.

Expert-led. Honestly delivered.

Every session is run by people who know their subject — and who speak to students as the capable young adults they are.

Far from home doesn’t mean celebrating alone. The seasons are marked, the festivities are shared, and every resident’s birthday is remembered.

New Year Countdown

Counting down together — the start of something new is best shared with people who feel like family.

Birthday Celebration

Every month, residents with birthdays that month are celebrated together — cake, company, and the quiet reassurance that you haven’t been forgotten.

Spring Festival Reunion Dinner

The most important meal of the year — shared together, even when home is far away.

Christmas Gift Exchange

A secret santa across nationalities and backgrounds — one of the warmest evenings in the DS calendar.

Make this your reality.

Everything you’ve seen on this page is real — the events, the community, the support, the adventures.

The next step is making it yours.
