After graduating from NTU, Dennis made a choice that surprised many people around him. He didn’t take an office job. He started looking after students — two of them, in a single rented room.
Sixteen years (and counting) later, that decision has grown into what DS Residences is today. The scale has changed. The care never has.

From the beginning, Dennis believed that boarding was never just about bedding and utilities. He wanted students to feel like they belonged in Singapore — sweating it out on the basketball court on weekends, learning responsibility through community service, building friendships that outlasted their studies.
As the community grew, so did the conviction that truly supporting international students meant more than a roof over their heads. It meant understanding the Singapore education system deeply, and having the expertise to guide students through it. Today, DS Residences brings together a team of dedicated educators and caregivers — because well-rounded growth, even far from home, takes a whole community.
To Dennis, the measure of everything is simple: the trust of students and their parents. That trust is what has kept him going for sixteen years. It’s what DS Residences is still built on today.

After graduating from NTU, Dennis chose student care over a corporate career — a decision that has shaped the lives of hundreds of young people over fifteen years. Having navigated Singapore’s education system from kindergarten to university himself, he builds pathways that are personal, not generic.
Samantha was Dennis’s first believer and first investor — the person who saw what this could become before anyone else did. Today she holds the strategic and operational backbone of DS Residences, ensuring the community scales without losing the care that built it.
